Umno is not deterred losing Tengku Zafrul

UMNO president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said he is not deterred by Tengku Zafrul Aziz decision to leave the party.

In fact, such an action is appropriate since there is no more loyalty to the party’s struggle.

“Many party members said his action is proper if there is no more loyalty to the party, so do not disturb him as he is doing his hajj, may he receive new guidance there,” he said to reporters after chairing a pre-council meeting with Malaysian delegations in London yesterday.

Zahid is in a four-day visit to the United Kingdom.

Zafrul had on May 30th announced his resignation as the Supreme Council member, division chief and Umno member, citing his intention to join PKR.

Commenting on Cabinet reshuffle, Zahid said it is the prerogative right of the prime minister.

He had earlier suggested that Zafrul portfolio is given to a Barisan Nasional’s Member of Parliament.
