THE meeting of all Umno division chiefs purportedly to be held this Thursday is just an ordinary briefing with party president, and has nothing to do with the addendum to place Najib Razak under house arrest.

It is said to convene at Umno headquarters at Menara Dato Onn. It was earlier reported that the meeting agenda is to apply pressure on Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to get the King’s consent for the implementation of the addendum

“It is true there will be a gathering on Thursday but it is a usual briefing with party president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

“There is no agenda whatsoever to apply pressure for the addendum. It is not true as reported,” an Umno source said.

Earlier reports suggested that the division chiefs from all over the country will meet in Kuala Lumpur to discuss the addendum to release the former premier and put him under house arrest.

However, the source said Umno uphold the judiciary and the palace, and will leave to them in attending to any issues of national interest.
