THE social media, especially the Whatsapp application was having polemic about the schooling session lately. Among which is the possibility of secondary schools to be re-opened in June, primary in July while special education and kindergarten will observe further shutdown until December.
It has confused parents among netizens, notably parents. However, a quick rebuttal by the Education Ministry over the authenticity of it by saying any information on school re-opening will come from it’s officials channel, has somehow relieved them.
The government must not treat this issue lightly. The Education Ministry must find fast solution to resume schooling session to enable parents make necessary preparations.
Parents who have come back to work during the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) are also faced with problems of sending and find suitable place to relocate their kids in Taska and Tadika since they are not operational. Some parents too have to bring their children to workplace for not having any option.
The government must come up with a Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) to allow those kindergartens resume operations because they provide good support for working parents.
A serious attention must also be given to the fees since parents still have to settle it even though their kids were on holiday since the last three months. Although some kindergartens do give some discounts but no specific guidelines bind it as it is up to the discretion of the management and parents only.
Maybe the government can consider a special incentive for these private kindergarten operators to lessen their hardship as they still have to pay wages to their staff, rental and other bills over the non-operational period.
May Allah The Almighty bless our effort and sacrifices, especially our frontliners.
