Overcome the problems, not adding to it

I RECEIVED many complaints from friends who can’t perform their Friday prayers and other duties at the mosques and surau since the Movement Control Order (MCO) was imposed on March 18.

Although some mosques are allowed to resume Friday congregation of late but the number of is limited to only 30 persons, in addition to the Nabawi Mosque in Madinah which allows congregation under tight Standard Operation Procedure (SOP).

Yes, we miss visiting the mosque a lot. So am I, longing for the congregation and other related things.

Whatever it is, we have to abide by the government’s and state authorities ruling which place the highest priority to our health compared with others. This is in parallel to the Fiqh:

1. “Eliminate the danger”

الضرر يزال

2. “Overcome the problem is more important than adding more to it”

درء المفاسدمقدم على جلب المصالح

3. “Avoid any threat to the Muslimin”

كل ما اضر بلمسلمين وجب ان ينفى عنهم

Most important is, we pray in congregation with our family at home. Never give up and let’s pray to Allah for the Covid-19 pandemic to disappear soon.

God Willing, we will be able to be back at the mosques again soon. When the time comes, ensure that we will not praying in congregation and make it lively again.
