LIBARAN, Sept 11 – Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said Sabahans have been under frustration under 2-year of the Warisan / Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration, and the coming state election will be the best avenue for them to change the leadership.
For that, he said the people of Sabah should choose wisely on the 26 Sept election so that their future is better.
“Two years of despair… what do we see during our two years of being in opposition? Does the government now care about us? Is the Pan Borneo road going on? Will the poor continued to be aided? It’s okay… this is a test. Later when there is a new Chief Minister, I believe he will make Sabah excellent again,” he said.
Zahid said this in a meeting with the BN machinery in the Libaran Parliament, today.
Apart from that, Zahid also said UMNO’s decision to contest only 32 seats is based on the understanding reached between parties in BN and Muafakat Nasional (MN).
“We are not greedy like a party contesting in 72 seats but God willing, we can win all those seats.
“But there must be effort. So, I hope all parties give good cooperation to Sabah BN Chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar. There is a reason why we chose him as the Chairman and Head of Sabah UMNO… because he is a leader who is loyal to UMNO.
“Even though he was pressured, slandered and insulted, he never ran away. He is our pride in Sabah. Because of that, we should not leave him alone. Bung will not succeed without support from all party levels,” he said.
Also present at the meeting were Sabah BN Chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin and UMNO Secretary General Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan.
