KUALA LUMPUR, May 23 – Umno President Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi asserts although some Members of Parliament (MPs) are with the Perikatan Nasional government, it doesn’t imply that the party’ is involved in any decision making.
As such, he said it must be made clear to avoid any misunderstanding.
“I was made to understand that there are efforts to implicate Umno over the failure of PN government. This needs clear comprehension by all.
“It is true there are few Umno reps in the government but it doesn’t mean the party is involved in any decision making. It is done solely by PN, including in managing Covid-19 pandemic,” he said in a Facebook posting.
He also said it is PN’s absolute right to do anything for the country since the Emergency Ordinance came into force where the Parliament is suspended on loose ground.
“So, don’t try to suck Umno into their weaknesses, with particular in managing the Covid crisis. It is not fair at all to put the blame on us as a result of its few reps joining them.
“However, it shouldn’t be construed that Umno doesn’t care for the people. We have given a lot of ideas and proposals to the government. However, it fell on deaf ears,” he said.
