Ahmad Maslan suggests total lockdown

KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 – Umno Secretary-General Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan suggests the government should enforce a total lockdown amid 7,280 new Covid-19 infection cases today.
The Pontian Member of Parliament said the full Movement Control Order (MCO) can be imposed for a period of 15 days first and the government should provide assistance to those affected.
He also attached a graphic on his Twitter the info on today’s Covid-19 cases.
“The graphic is just the government’s excuse but if they have will to enforce it, they can,” he said.
Among the reasons the government rejected a total lockdown is the nation’s and people’s economy.
As for vaccination, Ahmad suggested it should be made compulsory and follow certain rules.
“Vaccination does not need registratioin. Make it mandatory. Arrange it according to place and age,” he said.
For the record, today’s COVID-19 cases are the highest since the pandemic was detected in January last year.
Selangor remained the state with the highest daily number of cases with 2,642 cases, followed by Johor (664), Kuala Lumpur (604), Sarawak (513) and Kelantan (425).
Apart from that, Negeri Sembilan (410), Penang (380), Kedah (336), Terengganu (268), Sabah (266), Melaka (258), Perak (218), Pahang (211), Labuan (63), Putrajaya (23) and Perlis eight cases.
