Umno in solidarity against Covid-19

KUALA LUMPUR, June 9 – Umno leadership at all levels are called upon to show solidarity and work together in helping to address the Covid-19 pandemic, said Vice President Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid.
He said efforts must be intensified to support all initiatives implemented by the government.
“We cannot let only the government or the Health Ministry to do everything. We need to mobilize all efforts nationwide,” he said in a media statement today.
Among the things that can be mobilized are the creation of volunteer teams, vaccination mobile units in each Parliamentary constituency represented by Umno, special units for the public to the Vaccination Center (PPV), financial incentives, funeral management of Covid-19 patients, equipment and food assistance at the quarantine center.
“There is a lot we can contribute… We do not work according to the seasons. We are everywhere and anytime, this is Umno,” he said.
“The Youth, Women and Puteri also need to be more aggressive in moving their machinery to help the people or the authorities.
“We appreciate all Menteri Besar and Chief Ministers for this. not forgetting party Liaison Chairmen.
“As party Vice President, I would like to clarify that the party leadership does not have any obstacles. Our goal is to help contain this pandemic regardless of the political situation.”
