KUALA LUMPUR, June 10 – Umno President Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi prays a safe return journey of Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim and team in their aid mission to Gaza.

“He will leave on June 19-July 5 bringing with him a team of specialist doctors to help the injured and also to provide post-traumatic psychiatric assistance to Gazans affected by the recent attacks.

“With them are also IBS construction experts and CIDB representatives to help rebuild Gaza, including the reconstruction of more than 17,000 destroyed houses affecting 50,000 residents, schools and hospitals as well as other public facilities destroyed by the bombing,” he said on social media.

Zahid met the Palestinian Ambassador last night to observe preparations of the humanitarian aid. Azeez is also the Chairman of Umno Welfare Bureau.

He added that the objective of the aid mission is also be to provide expertise assistance in clean water supply and poor sewage systems.

“The humanitarian mission will also provide financial assistance to farmers and fishermen and scholarships for the children of Gaza in local universities,” he said.
