Sec-Gen suggests Parliament session with herd community

KUALA LUMPUR, June 15 – Secretary-General Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan suggests a parliamentary session be held face to face with the herd community.
In a Twitter posting today, the Pontian Member of Parliament said this is possible since all MPs had been vaccinated and all Parliament staff should also get vaccination.
“Only those already vaccinated, namely the Parliament staff, officials and the media members with two doses can enter,” he added.
Therefore, he said there is no need for a hybrid session and it can also be practiced at the State Assemblies.
Last week, the government said it was reviewing concepts and mechanisms towards the reopening of Parliament in a hybrid manner involving the Dewan Rakyat and Dewan Negara.
Earlier, Umno and several parties consistently urged the government to reopen the parliamentary session to discuss and find solutions related to the peoples’ interests of the people, especially the Covid-19 pandemic.
