‘Ah Long’: Is this PN’s mentality level?

KUALA LUMPUR, June 27 – Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi lamented at the Housing and Local Government Ministry for allowing licensed money lenders to operate during the Movement Control Order (MCO).
The party president said options are available for other sectors to carry on with their business, including those related to learning-from-home of PdPR which are still clamped.
“This money lender business comes 13 in the local government’s Covid-19 Intelligent Management System of CIMS 3.0,” he said in his Facebook posting.
The BN chairman also said this is giving a bad impression of the Perikatan Nasional.
“As if they are allowing the people to add to their problem by borrowing from the money lenders (or PPW). There is no justification of whatsoever to include them into the essential services,” he said.
The people, he said are beginning to weigh into the mentality of the PN government for approving the service ‘as part of the effort to help them’.
‘It seems that the government wants to pass on the responsibility of giving out cash assistance to the Ah Long, who gladly welcome the move.
“Isn’t it more proper if the loan is provided by the government agencies.
“Among which is to relax terms and conditions for TEKUN. Maybe we can simplify it by just their Mykad for loan application.
“This new move by PN is obviously making the people doubt their ability to take care of their well being,” he said.
