PM, Taki must resign for betraying The King

KUALA LUMPUR, July 29 – Umno deeply regrets the government’s action led by Tan Sri Mahiaddin Md Yasin which disobeyed His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s decree that all Emergency Ordinances be debated and tabled in the Parliament in line with Article 150 (3) of the Federal Constitution.
Its president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said Umno would ask Mahiaddin and Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan to resign honorably.
It is even more intriguing when Tuanku himself revealed that the repeal of the Emergency Ordinances as announced by Takiyuddin last Monday was very confusing since it didnt get The King’s consent.
“This action is clearly a form of rebellion against The King and the Federal Constitution,” he said in a statement today.
According to Bagan Datuk MP, Umno Members of Parliament must abide by the decision of the party Supreme Working Council (MKT) meeting on July 7.
“This decision is to fulfill the oath of office as a Member of Parliament who is obliged to show allegiance to His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and to preserve, protect and defend the Federal Constitution at all times.
“This stance is also in line with the principles and objectives of Umno to constantly maintain and defend the institution of the Malay Rulers as stipulated in Clause 3 of the party constitution,” he said.
