KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 3 – Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi urges the government not to be complacent in bringing down the number of new cases after it announced that Covid-19 pandemic phase has now ended.
The party president said, the infection case to be announced as ‘endemic’ will be in line with the declining number of new cases and fatality.
“The effort to contain it must be continued vigorously as the people will have to live with it.
“Since the economy and social sectors will be allowed to operate once it is changed from a pandemic to an endemic, the SOP should be fully enforced,” he said in a FB posting.
The Bagan Datuk MP said although the threat from Covid virus on those already getting fully vaccinated is minimal, the risk is still there.
“We don’t want to see many Malaysians get sick daily as this will affect their productivity.
“The business activity can be disrupted if working place record new clusters. Prevention is better that cure,” he said.
