Seat distribution: Its PN’s matter, says Shahril

KLUANG, Oct 2 – Information Chief Shahril Hamdan said the seat distribution for the next general election as mentioned by Perikatan Nasional chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, is their matter and did not involve Barisan Nasional.
BN, he said has never applied to be part of the negotiations with PN, In fact, Umno General Assembly has decided that there would not be any cooperation with PPBM in GE15.
“That is PN’s right, I do not want to sound selfish but that’s the fact,” he told Umno Online here, today.
“So we are bound by that. If PN wants to discuss, it is their stand and rights as well as BN’s in order to implement the rulings and decisions that have been made.”
Citing the report, the PN component parties have reached an agreement to complete the distribution of seats. Muhyiddin was reported to have said that PN would continue the seat-sharing negotiations and hold a meeting beginning next week even though it still did not get any indication from Umno or BN.
Shahril, who is also the Youth deputy chief also said the only question that may arise is about Umno’s partner in Muafakat Nasional, namely PAS in seat distribution.
“I think we may need some enlightenment from our friend in MN although we are aware that PAS do not want to choose between PN and MN, where it is a member of both.
“As Information Chief, I am not the position to advise PAS on what to do. Its their rights and we respect it. It also avoids confusion and misunderstanding,” he said.
