Melaka political turmoil can be resolved

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 5 – Vice-president Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid is confident that there are efforts being made to resolve the political crisis plaguing the Melaka government at the moment.
Without elaborating on the effort, he said the crisis should also be taken seriously by Umno leadership, especially at the central level.
Until this evening, what happened in Melaka is still unclear because there is some different information.
“However, what happened should be taken seriously by the party leadership and I am confident that there are efforts to resolve the matter,” he said as a comment on the crisis.
Mahdzir, who is also the Minister of Rural Development, was met by the media after completing the Virtual Appreciation Session program for seven participants and four national experts who participated in the Worldskills Competition 2021 at the Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) Headquarters, here yesterday.
Yesterday, four State Assemblymen (ADUN) of the Melaka government announced their loss of trust and withdrew support for the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Sulaiman Md Ali.
They are Datuk Seri Idris Haron (BN-Sungai Udang), Datuk Nor Azman Hassan (BN-Pantai Kundor), Datuk Noor Effandi Ahmad (Bersatu-Telok Mas) and Datuk Norhizam Hassan Baktee (Bebas-Pengkalan Batu).
