PRN Melaka: Party machinery is ready

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 20 – Umno Election Director Datuk Seri Mohamad Hassan said the party machinery is ready to face the Melaka state election (PRN) which is scheduled for November 20.
Mohamad, who is also deputy president said he had also studied several aspects and was expected to go down to the constituencies and the Polling District Center (PDM).
“This is the first state I came after being appointed Election Director by the President, and we are ready.”
The preparations by Umno Melaka are running smoothly but there are much more that can be improved.
Mohamad said this after attending the opening ceremony of Umno Women, Youth and Puteri wings in Pagoh Division on Tuesday.
Also present were Johor Liaison Secretary Datuk Samsolbari Jamal; Pagoh division chief Ismail Mohamed and state division heads.
Meanwhile, he also hoped Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) machinery improve their strategy to face this PRN to ensure that Melaka remains under the BN administration.
“Arrange our machinery well so that everyone understands what needs to be done and their respective tasks must be told by each officer. It has also been decided for states outside Melaka to come and help as much as possible,” he said.
The Election Commission (EC) set Nov 20 as the polling date for the PRN, with the nomination date set for Nov 8 while early voting on Nov 16.
The Melaka DUN was dissolved on Oct 4 last year following four State Assemblymen (ADUN) withdrawing support for the leadership of Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali.
The four former assemblymen are Datuk Seri Idris Haron (BN-Sungai Udang), Datuk Nor Azman Hassan (BN-Pantai Kundor), Datuk Norhizam Hassan Baktee (Bebas-Pengkalan Batu) and Datuk Noor Effandi Ahmad (Bersatu-Telok Mas).
