Melaka manifesto will remain at heart

KUALA LUMPUR, October 27 – Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has promised that the manifesto for Melaka state election (PRN) will be a significant one and covers everything.
The Umno president has also asked the manifesto committee to do its best for the benefit of Melaka people.
“We have determined the manifesto for them. This will not become an empty promise to woo votes but to really serve the Melaka people. Let the manifesto be short one but it must be to the like of the people and remains at heart. That is why this manifesto must be brought by the candidates as an offer,” he said.
He said this at the launching ceremony of BN Melaka machinery here. The date of polling is set for November 20.
Also present were BN Deputy Chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan; Chairman of the Advisory Board Datuk Seri Najib Razak; Vice Chairman Tan Sri SA Vigneswaran, Arthur Joseph Kurup; Secretary General Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir and Treasurer Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein.
Meanwhile, Zahid also outlined some key factors for the selection of candidates.
He said they must have the attitude of WALI which is winnable, acceptable and likeable by all races and religions.
“Of course, in such a situation, it is certain that even though BN symbol continues to be the choice, the candidate factor is the determinant of victory.
“I hope all BN machinery from Umno, MCA and MIC will not assume there is favoritism in the selection of candidates,” he said.
