KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 27 – Barisan Nasional (BN) Deputy Chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said the Melaka State Election (PRN) must be attended to well because it is very important for the party.
The Umno deputy president also said the outcome will be reflected on the coming general election.
“We are into do or die situation. We must manage it well,” citing how the Muslims tried to conquer Andalusia thousands of years ago.
“That is why we need to be careful, strategic, use all the tactics available for us to face this PRN,” he said when speaking at the BN election machinery ceremony here. It was officiated by BN Chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
In this context, Mohamad encouraged the machinery to face all challenges and obstacles even though there are some constraints amid the strict standard operating procedures (SOP) imposed by the government.
“Although we face various obstacles, it must not deter our effort. Although open campaigning is not allowed, it should not be a stumbling block for us. We are used to campaigning in Chini by-election with strict SOPs,” he said.
“As the Election Director, I have arranged the party machinery – which is the best way for us to arrange in facing the election. It is arranged accordingly. It is also important to take care of the PDMs because the poll result lies with them.
“Don’t be distracted by whatever the opponents are up to. They just want to see us take a tumble, they want to confuse us… so be careful,” he said.
