KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 1 – Pemuda (Youth) Umno will continue its role in airing the people’s and hardship and welfare, said its chief Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki.
In his FB posting, he said the people’s welfare must be the top priority, especially their quest for i-Citra EPF withdrawal.
“During our time championing the same issue with Datuk Seri Najib Razak, similar excuses were given by the Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz that 46 per cent of depositors did not have savings exceeding RM10k, thus will affect their retirement. However, after being pressured constantly, the government finally offered us i-Sinar and i-Lestari.
“At this particular time, we requested them to fulfill the demand by 56 per cent of those with RM10k savings, notably in the M40 income bracket who were most badly hit by the pandemic.”
He added this can be the last withdrawal for them since the economy is slowly reviving.
Earlier, he hoped Najib can raise the matter in his Budget speech debate at the Dewan Rakyat.
