KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 24 – Deputy President Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said this is the time for Barisan Nasional (BN) to work even harder after a thumping victory in Melaka state election.
He said the victory must be translated into efforts to revive the economy, creating jobs for the people and improve the administration.
“A lot have been said since our victory. I do not wish to make any comment.
“To me, it is time to work harder. After three years being wasted on political tussle, this is crucial for BN to steer the state quickly.
“After political stability is achieved in Melaka, the people’s welfare should be looked into. The state needs a new paradigm shift to its economy and tourism. This will provide a new lease of life in turning it as commercial model for others,” he said in a FB posting.
Mohamad who is also the party’s election director also said the idea to turn Melaka into heaven for freelancers, digital advancement and creative industry must be given priority.
“Based on the state’s strength in health tourism, the next step is to develop its regions in tandem with such developments.
“Its strategic location along the Straits of Malacca must be fully explored to make it a gateway to industrialists, tourists, foreign workers and students from Sumatra.”
He also said the victory in Melaka is no more something to shout about.
“BN has returned the stability and democracy. The next phase is to prosper it,” he said.
