KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 25 – Vice-President Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said voters in Melaka awared victory to Barisan Nasional (BN) because of confident that it is the best choice for Malaysia.
He said only BN provides politics of moderation, national integration and a progressive state.
“The people in Melaka has chosen a new government. Their mandate to BN indicates how the wanted political stability and maintaining it. It is, in fact a sign of BN’s comeback at the Federal level. It is where BN has demonstrated their improvement by fielding 87 per cent new candidates who are clean and capable of steering the party. This is a generational change.”
He said stability can only be achived if a party dominates the government, as envisaged in the Westminster democratic system. This is not a coalition of small parties because it can lead to instability.
He also said BN hsa taken a big gamble in Melaka state election but did not avoid the risk reverse.
“The biggest challenge for BN is the 15th general election. We will not discount on any move to rule the country again.
“However, it is not going to be easy. The millenial voters and the non-Malay are the main obstacles. We must work even harder,” he said.
BN won the election on Nov 20 by wresting 21 out of 28 state seats.
