Zahid congratulates GPS for its victory

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 19 – Party President Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi congratulates Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) leader Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg for their thumping victory by winning 76 out of 82 state seats in the just concluded election.

It was an additional four to the 72 won in the 11th state election. The victory comes after Barisan Nasional’s big win in the Melaka state election.


“Congrats GPS. Earlier reports said GPS had won 75 seats. Stability is the key to prosperity. May it augur well in Sarawak development.

“The relations between BN and GPS will stay forever for the sake of the people,” said the BN chairman.

The Bagan Datuk MP later said the a media statement that GPS victory manifests the people aspiration to be under an experienced state government.

“GPS with its ‘For Stability, Prosperity and Sarawak Glorious Sarawak’ is in tandem with BN manifesto in Melaka which was well accepted by the people.

“Political stability is the ultimate answer to the polemic in the country now. The national development will gather greater pace under a stable political ambience. A rickety government will not be able to do so.

“The time has come for a stable government at the Parliament level by giving the people new mandate to choose. This new mandate will put back Malaysia on the right glorious track.”
