KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 25 – Secretary -General Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan informed that the
President, Deputy President, the party’s Management Committee and Supreme Working Council members have agreed to postpone the Umno General Assembly 2021.
This was due to the flood disaster that hit many areas in the country, and since the grassroots leaders are busy helping the victims up to now.
Some divisions such as Kota Raja and Klang are still unable to hold Divisional Delegates Meetings due to floods,” he said in a media statement today.
The party General Assembly usually involves almost 6,000 grassroots leaders from Women, Youth and Puteri from 191 divisions and thousands observers from all over the country.
“The date were set for 12-15 January 2022 but will be postponed to a date to be announced later.
“Umno mourns those who were affected by the floods and hopes the party’s and Barisan Nasional machinery as well as the Federal and State Governments will continue to assist them,” he said.
