‘Correct your past mistakes, return to BN’

PONTIAN, Feb 26 – Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi hopes voters will support BN in the Johor State Election (PRN) on March 12.
He said that during the last general election, many voters made the wrong choice by voting Pakatan Harapan (PH) but this time around they are believed to have realised that mistake and hence want to return to BN.

“Umno which is the pillar of BN has several approaches, not only based on the number of voters who are party members but also BN components. It seems that those rejecting BN in the last GE are returning back to BN in this Johor election.

“This confidence is coupled with several studies that show that the feeling of regret and disappointment over the mistakes in the last GE.”
At the same time, he also gave his views on the multi-cornered contest involving BN candidates.
“Usually, all the seats contested in Johor are more than two-cornered. This is because many splinter parties that used to be with BN are now split,” he said during a press conference at the Pontian Umno Division Office, today.
He also said the Opposition is lack of understanding which led to the split.
“I have heard that they have an ‘understanding’ before the nomination but not after that, that the clash is inevitable.
“Let it be a four-cornered fight but Umno/BN machinery must strengthen their work and ensure victory is ours.”
