5,571 delegates attending Umno General Assembly

KUALA LUMPUR, March 14 – Secretary-General Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan said the Umno General Assembly (PAU) 2021 would not be held in a hybrid manner as previously conducted but will run in compliance with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) on Covid-19.
SOPs such as wearing face masks, physical distancing, use of sanitizer and MySejahtera application are among those mandatory, and only those with complete vaccinations will be allowed to enter the venue.
“We will also provide swab-test and those who are positive as and with symptoms, will not be allowed to attend,” he said.

“The Women, Youth and Puteri assemblies will be officiated by Deputy President Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan on Wednesday, March 16 at 8.00 pm and attended by 2,891 delegates. They will resume the next day.
“On March 18, the General Assembly 2021 will begin with the raising of the ‘Sang Saka Bangsa’ flag and our President Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi will officiate and deliver the policy speech at Dewan Merdeka. We will hold an award presentation ceremony for state party figures, the first,” he said.
The opening ceremony will also be attended by special guests such as ‘Friends Of BN’, BN component parties such as MCA, MIC and PBRS as well as several High Commissioners and Ambassadors. He said this at a press conference here, today.
