Party hopping betrays the voters, says Zahid

KUALA LUMPUR, May 26 – Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi decribes the decision by Ampang MP Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin to join another party for the second time as an act of betrayal to the voters.

It also gives the impression that the representatives are free for party hopping at their whim and fancy.

“Such an act definitely will frustrates and annoy the constituents. This also erodes the people’s trust to politicians. It really betrays them,” he said in a FB posting.

Zuraida used to left PKR to join Bersatu after the infamous ‘Sheraton Move’ and today announced her decision to join Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM).

Zahid who is party President and BN Chairman is of the view that the Anti-Hopping Law must be hasten to restore the people’s confidence prior to the next general election.

“The Prime Minister should take up the matter seriously and not to compromise with such representatives. We must put an end to all this.

“There are some loyal MPs we must consider as replacement to Zuraida’s ministerial portfolio,” he says.

Zuraida earlier today announced her resignation as the Minister of Commodity and Plantation Industry and will meet up Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob soon.
