KUALA LUMPUR, July 14 – Umno President Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi chided at those seeking positions in the Cabinet.
“They didn’t care about the people’s predicament and hardship, instead they are crazy for positions.
“In the current situation, politics must be centered at the people’s interest. Politics of intimidation and making immature demand shouldn’t have arise.
“We need to be more realistic in assessing current needs. What is needed is to revive the current economy and a government getting the people’s support are more important than demanding the Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) post. The rakyat is now plagued with economic issues, and that should be given a top priority.
The BN chairman added that despite facing various challenges, the government managed to overcome it due to the spirit of unity among party leaders and members.
“At the same time, it is rumored that there is a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Perikatan Nasional and the Prime Minister to appoint a DPM from PPBM.”
Meanwhile, Information Chief Shahril Hamdan slammed former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin for demanding the DPM post.
“This is because the appointment of a DPM is irrelevant and should not be considered because the election is coming soon.
“The position requested by Muhyiddin is absurdand is irrelevant, thus should not be considered. The need now is to manage the country for the people,” he said.
