PBM application cited at BN top meeting

SEREMBAN, 9 August – Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM)’s application to join Barisan Nasional (BN) was discussed at the BN Supreme Council meeting in the middle of this month, said BN Deputy Chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.
Its president Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin had also visited him at his office last month. However, the matter needs further study, he said.
“I had a meeting with Datuk Zuraida last month who expressed PBM’s desire to join BN. I advised her that BN’s decision is reached by consensus.
“If all component parties agree, then it is possible. I asked her to write a letter to the BN Chairman,” he said here, today.
The Rantau rep also said besides PBM, there are also other parties keen to join BN.
“But they can become Friends of BN first. Most of the parties do not any rep at the Parliament, but this PBM is a little different because they have elected representatives.
“Considerations will come from several angles,” he said.
