KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 17 – Party president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said that the political enemies will step up their attacks on BN in run-up to the 15th general election.
As such, he said Umno/BN machinery must be well prepared in countering any of their lies and slanders towards the coalition.
“We need to admit that the main factor which led to our defeat in GE14 was our failure to master the social media, that we failed to utilise each and every platform available to the maximum.”
This differs with the Opposition that made use of the social media to smear BN and Umno.
“It’s different now. Tell them that this is no more drama. We have the social media strength. To Wanita, Pemuda and Puteri, launch your attack with fact and figure correctly,” he said in a FB posting.
At the same time, he said the conventional method in disemminating news must be retained as it is still widely acceptable.
He shares a few tips, among which are:
- Ignore the onslaught by the opposition but strengthen BN social media tools;
- Disemminate news and information to all voters, including the new ones and partyless, and
- Embark on a massive approach to control the social media platforms most preferred.
