ASPIRING Umno leaders who wish to contest for the top five positions in the party have been asked to make their intentions known during the party’s general assembly that is currently taking place at the Kuala Lumpur World Trade Centre (WTC) here.

Information chief Isham Jalil was of the view that aspiring leaders should avoid announcing their intention to run for any of the top positions until the very last minute before the upcoming party election.

Isham, who is also the party’s supreme council member, said the on-going Umno General Assembly is the best platform for the leaders to announce their intentions if they wish to contest in the party polls.

“Make your intention known early if you wish to contest for the posts of president, deputy president, or one of the three vice presidents. Do not hide your intention and beat around the bush.”
