THE dismissal of some Umno members was not raised at the Umno Supreme Council meeting last night, the focus being on efforts to empower the party, says Umno secretary-general Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki.

He said the issue of Umno Supreme Council member Isham Jalil’s statement about Umno needing to go solo in the previous election was not raised in the meeting either, following the latter’s absence.

“This issue did not arise because the decision of the unity government was already made on Nov 23, 2022. It was a party decision by the Supreme Council… the decision was based on consensus.

On other matter, he said Umno will leave it to its disciplinary board to decide if action should be taken against Rembia assemblyman Jailani Khamis.

Asyraf said the matter was not discussed in the Umno Supreme Council Meeting tonight.

“We will leave the decision to the Umno disciplinary board to decide on any action towards him (Jailani),” he told reporters after the Umno Supreme Council meeting.”
