THE UMNO HQ had on October 1 st , 2019 received an invitation to attend the ‘KONGRES MARUAH MELAYU’ or MALAY DIGNITY CONGRESS. It was addressed to the President Dato Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and members of the party’s Supreme Council. It will be held at 8am on Oct 6 at Melawati Stadium in Shah Alam, Selangor.

The party president has raised the matter at a Management Meeting on Oct 2 nd and the Political Bureau Committee a day later prior referring it to the Supreme Council meeting on Oct 3 rd.

It was agreed upon that UMNO will despatch a delegation to be headed by the party Secretary-General.

The endorsement was also given in respect of the organiser, which is University of Malaya (UM), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Sultan Idris Teaching University (UPSI) and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) believed to converge on issues pertaining the Malay interest.

As the largest Malay party and pioneer to UMNO-PAS ‘Muafakat Nasional’ charter, UMNO agreed to attend it on hope and interest to join deliberations on the Malay issues, sharing thoughts and views on how solutions can be derived at.
