Zahid explains confusion over his winding up

ALHAMDULILLAH, thanks be to Allah SWT. The UMNO General Assembly (PAU) 2020 was concluded on a success note yesterday.
My gratitude to all delegates who took the time to attend it, and not forgetting the members who followed it virtually. I pray for their continues struggle for the party.
I note there was a bit of confusion in my closing speech this afternoon. It was about the Wanita chief who is also the Minister of Higher Education in the Perikatan Nasional government.
In the winding up address, I stated that 8 Wanita states’ spokespersons were of the same opinion as their chief. The matter is related to the current situation, that all UMNO MPs must resign from the posts of Minister, Deputy Minister and chairman of government-linked companies (GLCs).
The point I wanted to highlight is that Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad is also a minister from this party. I am not referring to her specifically but to all our MPs in the government.
The point is, we must remember that they got the position as the result of UMNO’s trust in PN and if someone back stabs UMNO, they should remember where they came from.
Without the grassroots, they could not have made it to their positions. However, I am convinced they are loyal and love the party.
I also commend WANITA significant to the party. I and that under the stewardship of Datuk Seri Noraini, they will continue the noble deeds for the sake of religion, race and nation in the next general election.
I apologise for the misunderstanding.
