Loyalty comes with fortitude, says Zahid

KUALA LUMPUR, April 4 – Many raised the issue of loyalty lately but do they understand its true meaning?
That’s what UMNO President Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi brought up in a FB posting, today.
He said loyalty carries a lot of meanings but in simpler word, it is more about fortitude.
As the old saying goes, loyalty must come with fortitude.
“Loyalty in the context of UMNO is about continuing the agenda of our struggle for religion, race and nation. This agenda cannot be detached from our ideology and must be defended.
“We must not allow any subversive elements in it. That is why UMNO adheres to absolute loyalty to its its struggle as demonstrated at the General Assembly recently.
“Let us learn from the word loyalty because it contains honesty, sincerity and trust. True loyalty can sometimes hurts,” he said.
In general context, he said loyalty is considered as the most important thing in a relationship and in the context of religion, loyalty is much more meaningful.
Loyalty to the country, he added, is about identity and nationalism, and the undivided feeling of love for the homeland.
“When asked about loyalty to the Rulers, it is the symbol of Malaysia a sovereign state. Loyalty to a life partner is a catalyst to the well-being of the family institution. We understand this philosophy and because of that, loyalty to the party is something we should not compromise,” he said.
