KUALA LUMPUR, June 6 – Vice-president Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said together with the rest of the party leadership, Umno will continue speaking for the people as it has been its moral responsibility .

“It is for the betterment of all. Any critics made by Umno leaders will get immediate response.

“Why do they criticise the PN government? Isn’t Umno with them. Don’t we have a whatsapp group?

“Although the answer for the rift is obvious, let me stress once again that we have a social obligation,” he said in a Facebook posting, today.

He outlines the reasons as:

1. Umno is the largest party in Perikatan Nasional. Like it or not, that is reality. Umno has morale responsibility to ensure all its ministers expedite their duty for the benefit of the people.
2. Any critics by Umno is meant as brotherly advice and we cannot permit any wrongdoings to happen because it will directly implicate the party.
3. The Prophet teaches us to be truthful although its unpleasant. I see it in the context of correcting those wrongdoings, admit mistakes and amend it. Stop finding others’ mistakes when if cannot correct ours.
4. Umno’s focus is the people and the nation. Whoever did something which is detrimental must be criticized and opposed.
