KUALA LUMPUR, July 23 – Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi revealed how some friends asked how he could face the challenges in leading Umno.

He said although it is necessary to lead a political party that lost after decades of being the core of the country’s government because the struggle must go on.

“The enemy knows that we can rise to occasion and when it takes place, Umno will definitely become stronger. So they try to ensure that the party disappears from the local political scenario. They also tried to take control of Umno for political gain because they are aware of its strength.

“My answer is lillahitaala (in the name of Allah SWT). As a believer, something we do is because of Allah SWT,” he said in a FB posting.

The Bagan Datuk MP said all must be carried out in sincerity even if there is mounting pressure.

“My next answer is because of the truth, because truth must be defended and fought for. If we know we are on the right track, no one will be upset.

“Thirdly is because of the people and the country. Umno needs to be defended because it is the last bastion of the people and the country. It is necessary to continue to air their voice and aspirations even if it no longer holds power,” he said.

The party president also said Umno is a noble struggle in any situation.

“And a strong heart can be obtained by prostrating to Allah SWT because He is the only place to seek help. May Allah bless the party and strengthen every arms of it.”
