Postponement of Anti-Hopping Bill disappointing

KUALA LUMPUR, April 8 – Puteri Chief Datuk Zahida Zarik Khan said the postponement of the party’s Anti-Hopping is very disappointing.
Even disappointing is when theCcabinet itself did not agree that it would be tabled in the near future.

“It is very disappointing news. It is rumored that the postponement decision was made because the Cabinet did not agree it would be tabled in the near future.

“The people are questioning it. Who are the ministers rejecting it,?” she said in a FB posting.
She further raised the question of whether the matter was not serious to be brought to parliament.
“Is the government not serious in passing this law? The people are tired of the political chaos as a result of the actions of the MPs who keep on jumping parties.
“In line with the party’s ruling, this bill must be expedited until it is passed in the assembly later,” he said.
Citing a report, the Anti-Party Hopping Bill which was supposed to be tabled in the Dewan Rakyat next Monday has been postponed for the second time.
This was informed by the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and Law), Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar on Thursday following the Cabinet’s disagreement with it.
