Criticism on Dr Mahathir remarks on Umno

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 9 – Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s statement on Umno received criticism from the party’s top brass, with vice-president Datuk Seri Khaled Nordin describing him ‘never moved on’ since leaving it many years ago.

He said even his experiment in founding PPBM and wanting to become a replacement for Umno has failed him.

“After getting booted from the PM post and sidelined by his own party, he established Pejuang, and after its dismay performance by losing all deposits in Johor state election, he now formed Gerakan Tanah Air or GTA.

“What is this? I hope he move on. He is now visiting every state, meeting those he once neglected,” he said.

Meanwhile, Puteri Chief Datuk Zahida Zarik Khan said this is no more Mahathir’s era as the youth is more matured in politics.

“His era is over. He got to realize it.

“Enough is enough. This is not an era where a poison letter is pinned under a stone at mosques, or the era of VHS and VCD but everything is at the finger tip.”

Information Chief Shahril Hamdan in his comment on Dr M said his party should enter the general election and give Umno a good fight instead of making unscrupulous remarks about it.

“Your effort to see the demise of Umno has failed. When you are PM of Pakatan Harapan, you did all sort of things to hurt us.

“It’s time to see what you have in the 15th general election. The people have realized what happened during your era and under PH.”
